Baking Tips & Recipes

Hey ya’ll! This initial post here is not a baking tip or recipe, although I promise there will be many of those to come. This post is about giving back. I recently discovered an organization that allows bakers like myself to contribute smiles to critically ill children through the medium of cakes and cookies.

Icing Smiles is a non-profit organization created about ten years ago by Tracy Quisenberry. Today, they partner with over 11,000 volunteers and have donated over 20,000 cakes and 26,000 plus cookies. Thanks to the generous hearts of so many people, these numbers are continuously growing strong, providing smiles through sweet confections to parents and children battling a critical illness. These moments may be fleeting, but the memories will last forever.

On a personal note, the name of my little baking business is It’s The Little Things. I chose this name because it truly is the little things that often bring the most joy. So yes, I have signed up and can’t wait to get my first order! Just the thought of bringing a smile to a child going through something no child should ever have to endure brings me tears of happiness.

Check out this amazing organization at https://www.icingsmiles.org and sign up to put a smile on the face of a child and in the hearts of their parents 🙂
