Works in Progress

My favorite writing genre is urban fantasy, creating fascinating worlds populated with mythical and supernatural beings set in our modern world. To date, I have yet to be published but have a few promising stories in the works. Here are some excerpts – let me know what you think!

  • Me, Myself, & Death

An urban fantasy about one woman’s journey into a life and world she never knew existed. Meet Hannah, an introverted socialite who is struggling with a south bound marriage, an angry teenage son, and a mother who never lets her forget her flaws. Just as she as resigns herself to this life of despair, she wakes one morning to discover she has been murdered. In a twist that could only be engineered by the Fates themselves, she is given one chance to solve her own murder, saving not only herself and those she cares for the most but many others, as well. • Secrets

A short story, urban fantasy with a time travel twist. Meet Liz, a practical woman, who has just had her world turned upside down only to discover just how trivial her problems were compared to her newfound knowledge. A secret that only she knows, one that will impact all she knows. A secret that, whether told or not, that will ultimately destroy her life.

  • Positive Thoughts

An urban fantasy about a young girl’s search for affirmation. Raised by loving, if somewhat overprotective parents, Sage lived a happy life. Until, at the age of 12, her parents were violently taken from her. It wasn’t until she was moved into her first foster home that Sage discovered she was different from other children. A difference that seemed to ignite only fear and hatred in others. Released from state custody at the age of 18, Sage is determined to find out who she is and if there are any others like her. The answer will lead her on a journey the likes of which she had only ever known from her mother’s bedtime stories. And her mother had definitely left out a great many important parts. Ones that, if she wasn’t very careful, could have less than positive consequences.
